Beyond The Dream

The chase of the dream held me bound

I’ve stayed stuck in its grasp

Held on for dear life

Nothing else mattered

No point in trying anything else

Stayed glued to the dream for a long time

Thought it would bring me fulfillment

It did for a while

But now it’s lost its allure

It’s ceased to bring the feelings long desired

The loss of the dream brought emptiness in its wake

Increased the loneliness and the pain

It’s like starting all over

Trudging through the darkness

Desperately searching for the light

Yearning for meaning

Yearning for fulfillment

Beyond the dream lies another life

A promise of an unexplored, beautiful maze

A life worth searching for
