One day, I walked into my office and a colleague screamed, ‘Ifeanyi, you’ve lost weight’. He hadn’t seen me in two months. Because I was transferred from his department to another department three months ago.

He looked horrified.

He asked me if I was okay or if I needed to see the doctor. I explained to him I was great and didn’t need to see a doctor at all. He left, looking confused mumbling to me to regain the weight immediately.

I had lost more weight than I had planned to. It started with my boyfriend telling me he didn’t date big ladies. I needed to lose weight if it was going to work between us. At that time, I should have asked him why he came to me in the first place. But I was too in love to ask.

I went completely crazy over losing weight.

I worked out at the gym three times a week. Besides working out at the gym, I exercised every morning at home. Burpees, jumping jacks, sit-ups. I did everything I could to lose weight. I stopped eating processed foods. I stayed away from sodas. I drank only water and green tea.

It worked! I lost weight. Only I had lost my boyfriend already. We fought over everything. I tried hard to make…
